So, if you didn’t know, last night was the full moon, which in July is known as the Buck Moon or Thunder Moon. I haven’t taken any photos of the moon in years, and last night was a great opportunity to do so! I also have a couple tips for you if you’re wanting to attempt to get full moon photos with your own DSLR.
A couple things I recommend is a zoom lens (usually comes with a camera bundle kit, it’s the longer lens around 70-300mm) so you can zoom in. I also recommend a tripod to eliminate some of the shake. From there, the settings I used were 1/100 shutter speed, f/11 aperture, and 100 ISO. It keeps the background nice and dark, but doesn’t blow out the moon too much.
