Something Beautiful

Heartstring Eulogies

All those times I tried to hide my pain, you still knew the droplets on my face weren’t from the rain. You knew me better than anyone and you showed me that I could trust that you’d always be there, so I built my walls around you, keeping you in with me so I wouldn’t be so alone.

I embraced the pain as you held me. Even if you never know, your arms keep me whole. When you feel the beat of my heart against your skin, know that it beats for you and all you’ve done. You helped me turn my pain into something beautiful.
