Travel Diary-Manaoag, Pangasinan
Our trip to San Juan, La Union have given us an opportunity to visit the holy shrine of Manaoag in Pangasinan last June 21, 2015.
Manaoag is a first class municipality in the province of Pangasinan, Philippines. The town is a popular local pilgrimage site as it enshrines a 17th-century ivory statue of St Mary under the title of Nuestra Señora del Rosario de Manaoag (“Our Lady of the Rosary of Manaoag”).
The ivory image which bears its title dates from the 16th century and is presently enshrined within the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary of Manaoag. The shrine is a major pilgrimage site in the country and is administered by the Order of Preachers within the Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan.
